DEKO Supplies Custom-made Glazed Partition for the Busiest Airport in Germany

Calm, safety and the need for innovative thinking. These are just some of the key words DEKO encountered when we had to install the fully glazed partition for a conference room in Frankfurt Am Main Airport. DEKO designed a unique glazed partition for a conference room to be used for meetings of the airport’s administrative staff.

The airport of the German financial capital of Frankfurt Am Main has always been known for being extremely busy and is the headquarters of Lufthansa, one of the largest airlines in the world.

So, it will come as no surprise that a location, which is all about speed and bustle, houses a number of conference rooms, where important decisions get made. DEKO came up with a unique composition of two glazed partitions, not only to provide fire resistance and sound reduction, but also to accommodate the usual aesthetic standards of DEKO glazed partitions.

Unique craftsmanship

The composition consists of our fire-classified, fully glazed DEKO FG Fire Black partition, which, in response to the developer’s requirements, was changed to a specially designed version of DEKO FG2.

The glazed partition is constructed like a normal DEKO FG2. The modified DEKO FG2 glazed partition has a built-in DEKO FG Fire element to satisfy the requirements of the developer.

Initially, we offered the developer a DEKO Fire Black glazed partition. Subsequently, easily accessible Venetian blinds and a safety glass panel were added to the inside of the partition.

All the profiles of the glazed partition come from DEKO FG Fire.

DEKO supplied, manufactured and installed this unique glazed partition.

The 6-metre-long glazed partition is part of a 30-m2 conference room. The glass is 55-mm thick and provides Rw 55 dB sound reduction. The fireproofing of the glazed partition is EI 30, while safety glass is 21-mm thick.

Projects throughout Germany

It is not only the airport at Frankfurt am Main Airport for which DEKO has supplied products. Previous projects include the airports of Dubai and Bahrain.

In addition to the project in Frankfurt Am Main, DEKO is also involved in several projects in Europe’s largest country. These include interior glazing solutions for the listed town hall of Marl and glazed partitions for the company BEGO, a specialist in 3D printing.
