IKANO Bolig furnishes domicile with recycling-based glazed partitions walls and doors

Discarded wood and glass from decommissioned building windows have been given new life as a decorative partition system with matching pivot doors in IKANO Bolig's newly furnished headquarters in Glostrup

IKANO Bolig offers homes that are functional, sustainable and homely. And the company's newly furnished headquarters in Glostrup shows that their own workplace is no exception when it comes to creating a sustainable environment that makes you relax and feel at home.

The office environment is furnished with wood as the main element in everything from creative interiors to unique glazed partition solutions, which not only come in a enticing wooden design - but are also entirely created of discarded materials.

TYSTØ: DISCARDED MATERIALS GET NEW LIFE

DEKO’s Tystø glazed partition system has been developed in collaboration with a:gain with the aim of reducing current and future material waste. The lifetime of materials should not necessarily be thought of as a straight line, but rather as a cycle where one recreates instead of discarding used materials.

The Tystø system is made of discarded wood from the industry, and it has been processed anew. The same applies to double glazed windows that are created from old, discarded building windows. While the materials are in prime condition, they simultaneously bear witness to a previous life. Unique details and small imperfections such as random knots in the structure of the wood play no role in the quality of the product, but enrich the system with characteristic charm and authenticity that complements any decor.

And at IKANO Bolig, the system works particularly well in interaction with the rest of the decor, where elements of nature are used to create creative facilities, such as wooden swings and decorative tree stumps, which encourage play and idyll at the same time.

BESPOKE MATCHING PIVOT DOORS

Specifically for the Tystø system, DEKO and a:gain also have customised pivot doors that are made from the same recycled materials and match the partition system’s proportions and beautiful finishes. IKANO Bolig has been supplied with glass framed doors with pivot hinges for the glazed partition system, but the Tystø door solution is also available in solid wood.

Wood is a very climate-friendly building material, as it removes carbon from the atmosphere and stores it in our buildings. In addition, wood does not require much energy to process, and it can be reused again and again.

But wood also has aesthetic advantages with its honest and warm expression. Do you also dream of decorating your interior with recycled wood-based partition and door solutions? Read more about our Tystø partition and door system here.
