New oak-framed glazed partition solution from Wallmakers for Skanska's new head office

The CPH Highline office building in Copenhagen was developed by Skanska and created with the vision of making human well-being and employee health its no. 1 focus, and now multinational construction company, Skanska, has moved in to reap the benefits of the light, open design. In order to add the final aesthetic flourish to the office environment in the lease, Wallmakers has fitted out Skanska's new head office with slim glazed partitions and doors in finely detailed oak.

SLIM WOOD-FRAMED GLAZED PARTITION SYSTEM – WITH A TWIST IN THE TAIL

The architect for CPH Highline and interior design of Skanska, Holscher Nordborg, had very clear ideas about the partitions’ dimensions and design – a task as exciting as it was challenging – and his plan was fully resolved and installed by DEKO in co-operation with Wallmakers' internal specialist, Jesper Frederiksen. The result was a unique glazed partition system featuring lacquered solid oak profiles of the slimmest design yet to appear on Wallmakers’ drawing board.

The advantage of working with wood is that it is an incredibly adaptable material, so every wood-framed glazed partition solution also comes with its own little twist in the tail. In addition to the sleek design and the wood's own unique, exposed grain, the glazed partitions in the Skanska offices also stand out on the strength of a beautiful little detail between glass and frame, adding extra elegance to the final impression. As well as extending the same elegant design to the two floors of offices, overhead glazed panels with oak profiles have been installed for the heart of the lease, namely the kitchen area, adding the finishing touch to the interior design of Skanska's head office.

OBVIOUS SOLUTIONS FOR AN OFFICE ENVIRONMENT WITH A FOCUS ON WELL-BEING

With huge windows and an extraordinary view of the harbour and city, it is clear that Skanska has not moved into the CPH Highline for its location alone. When talking about spatial well-being, it includes everything from inspiring framing to openness, space and, not least, light, light and more light.

Given that natural daylight is one of the most important sources of health and daily well-being, glazed partitions are an obvious solution. The transparency of the glass not only helps distribute daylight streaming through the windows around the entire office environment, but also creates a sense of openness and space. The use of wood, bringing contrast, life and warmth to what otherwise might be cool, sterile interiors, is also absolutely in vogue. Wood also has a calming effect, which can be clearly felt in Skanska’s luxurious offices.
