Architectural interplay between daylight and natural materials
The building’s interior is structured around a rhythm of visually striking timber constructions and open glass surfaces that connect the floors both vertically and horizontally. To support this architectural concept, the glass and timber systems have been project-adapted with custommade profiles in matt lacquered pine and pine veneer.
For the project, DEKO has supplied a project-adapted partition wall solution based on timber systems from Wallmakers — part of DEKO’s product portfolio. The solution is made with custom-made profiles in matt lacquered pine and pine veneer.
The profiles match the building’s load-bearing timber columns and beams, making the partition walls appear as an integrated part of the building’s structure. At the same time, the slim profiles and large transparent elements preserve an architectural lightness that allows daylight to flow deep into the arrival and shared areas.
Project overview
- System solution: Project-adapted timber and glass partitions based on Wallmakers Træsystem No. 01 and Træsystem No. 06
- Wood types & finish: Matt lacquered pine and matt lacquered pine veneer
- Technical complexity: Angled fire-rated glass installation up to 3.85 metres above floor level
- Functional requirements: High fire-safety requirements combined with maximum light transmission
Precision at height: Angled fire-rated glass panels high above floor level
One of the project’s most distinctive technical and visual achievements is the installation of large fire-rated glass panels high in the space. Several of these elements feature angled cut-outs to follow the geometry of the building and are installed at heights from 2,700 mm up to 3,850 mm above floor level.
Working at these heights places high demands on the design phase, tolerances and installation execution. The result is a visually impressive glass wall that significantly enhances the spatial experience of the building without compromising the strict legal requirements for fire safety.
Enhanced fire safety in a light and industrial expression
Although the fire-rated glass partitions meet high technical fire-safety requirements, the solution appears light, elegant and seamlessly integrated. Fire protection is not experienced as a heavy or technical limitation, but as a natural part of the modern, industrial expression, where raw metal elements, light wood and transparent glass surfaces enrich one another.
At DEKO, we combine decades of experience in partition walls with continuous product development, making it possible to unite material quality, flexibility and fire safety in one cohesive architectural solution.
