Indeglas Wins National Award for Work on Historic University Project

We are proud to share that our partner, Indeglas, has been awarded a prestigious national FIS Award for its outstanding contribution to the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh — marking the company’s third national recognition for excellence in interior glass partition systems.

Presented at the 2025 FIS Awards in London, this accolade highlights the exceptional quality of Indeglas’ work on a project that brought new life to a historic structure. Organised by the Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) — the UK’s leading trade association for interior finishes — the awards honour craftsmanship, innovation, and excellence in project delivery. Each shortlisted project is carefully evaluated by a panel of industry experts.

The award-winning project centred on the adaptive reuse of a listed building that formerly housed the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Now transformed into a modern academic and research hub, the development required a thoughtful blend of architectural sensitivity and technical innovation.

DEKO FG2

In collaboration with Bennetts Associates (architects) and Balfour Beatty (main contractor), Indeglas was selected to deliver high-performance glass partitions. As part of the transformation, they installed DEKO FG2, which played a key role in creating bright, high-performance interior spaces that allow natural light to flow into the building’s circulation and study areas.

This recognition is a testament to the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and technical expertise that Indeglas brings to every project. We at DEKO are honoured to have contributed to this remarkable outcome and proud to celebrate this achievement with our trusted partner.
